CIANA prepares future Americans for the naturalization test and interview in small classes. Our Civics classes promote a better understanding of U.S. history, government, and American institutions, and promote civic engagement.

CIANA’s legal program assists with completing immigration forms, naturalization and permanent residency applications, family petitions, DACA renewals, adjustment of status, work permits, and other immigration issues. We offer low-cost legal consultations with an experienced immigration attorney to meet immigration needs.

CIANA provides case management, information, and referral services to assist eligible individuals and families obtain affordable housing, SNAP, NYC Care, cash assistance, low-cost internet access, discounted MetroCards, IDNYC, employment and job training referrals, and a variety of other public benefits.

CIANA offers free one-on-one and small group homework help to elementary and middle school students in grades 1-8.

CIANA has joined the citywide response to the influx of asylum seekers in Astoria and across New York City. At this time we do not offer direct assistance for asylum, work permits, or TPS. However, we do offer free legal screenings and referrals to organizations that do provide these services. We assist with applications for NYC Care  (healthcare), Fair Fares (discounted MetroCards), and IDNYC. We also help clients access food/nutritional resources and clothing.
